Rochemaure / Montélimar
Two jewels of the southern Ardèche to discover!
Rochemaure, a charming medieval town nestling on the right bank of the Rhône opposite Montélimar, bears witness to a rich historical past. As you wander through its narrow streets, you can admire its stone houses, 12th-century castle, basalt and limestone ramparts and admire the magnificent panorama from this imposing fortress.
Don't miss the Himalayan footbridge.
Cycling enthusiasts will love our hotel's proximity to the ViaRhôna (an 815 km circuit linking Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean Sea along the river).
Leaving Rochemaure, just 5 km away, you'll find Montélimar, the famous capital of nougat, where you can visit the factories and learn all about the production process. You can also enjoy a stroll through its historic centre, with its lively streets, picturesque shops and rich architectural heritage, including the Château des Adhémar, an impressive medieval fortress overlooking the town.
Rochemaure and Montélimar are ideal for nature and outdoor enthusiasts, who can explore the superb landscapes of the Drôme Provençale on the many hiking and cycling trails in the area.
They can also follow the banks of the Rhône, explore the Ardèche Gorges, visit picturesque villages, the Chauvet-Pont d'Arc cave and many other sites of cultural and tourist interest. There's no shortage of things to discover.
